The CEMB SM628 is a professional-grade swing arm tire changer engineered specifically for OEM and oversized tire applications, including custom wheels and specialty vehicles. This machine is built to tackle the challenges modern tire shops face every day: low-profile tires, run-flats, stiff sidewall tires, and deep drop center rims found on commercial light trucks and on/off-road vehicles. With its robust North American design, the SM628 handles virtually any wheel up to 44" in diameter and 15" in width, making it an ideal choice for shops servicing a wide range of passenger cars, light trucks, and specialty vehicles.
Featuring inside clamping from 13" to 26" with a self-centering clamping jaw system powered by high-quality dual air cylinders, the SM628 ensures uniform clamping pressure and high clamping force to reduce rim slippage during tire mounting and demounting. The machine is equipped with rim diameter indexing guides for precise alignment and secure clamping, providing confidence when working with high-value custom and OEM wheels.
At the heart of the CEMB SM628 is a heavy-duty, high-torque, 2-speed motor (8-15 rpm) that easily handles the most difficult sidewall tires and deep drop center rims. This powerful motor delivers the torque needed to work through stubborn beads without straining, while the two-speed operation provides flexibility for different tire types and operator preferences. Combined with a bead breaker force of 6,175 lbf (2,800 Kgf), this machine breaks even the toughest beads quickly and efficiently, reducing labor time and operator fatigue.
The machine operates at 145 psi (10 bar) working pressure and runs on standard 110 VAC power supply, making it compatible with most North American shop electrical systems. With a shipping weight of 440 lbs (200 kg), the SM628 is built solidly yet remains manageable for installation and positioning within your shop.
The SM628 comes standard with a quick-change mount head kit that provides both steel and polymer long-wearing mounting heads. This system allows technicians to quickly swap between mounting head types depending on the wheel material and application, protecting delicate finishes on high-end wheels while maintaining durability for heavy-duty commercial applications.
For shops that regularly service stiff sidewall tires and deep drop center rims, CEMB offers an optional high-performance Bead Press System (BPS).
