The Atlas® TC289DAA rim clamp, swing arm tire changer is the complete professional solution for automotive service departments, medium-to-large tire stores, and farm applications that demand serious capability. This enhanced model builds on Atlas's proven TC289 platform by including the exclusive DAA-SA dual assist arm package — a two-arm system that acts as an extra set of hands during difficult tire changes. With one left-hand arm featuring a pressing block and pressing/lifting disk, and one right-hand arm equipped with a pressing/lifting disk and bead roller, the dual assist arms are essential for handling stiff sidewall tires, low-profile tires, and run-flat designs efficiently and safely. This system saves time, reduces physical strain, and makes challenging wheel services manageable for a single operator.
Built for versatility and power, the TC289DAA features an extra-large turntable with maximum clearance to accommodate tires up to 47" in diameter — perfect for large SUVs, one-ton trucks, agricultural equipment, and specialty vehicles. The machine combines an electric turntable with air-operated jaws and bead breaker (external air supply required), delivering a robust 885 ft-lbs of turntable rotating torque and a powerful 5,500 lbs pneumatic bead breaker force. This combination ensures that even the most stubborn, rusted, or tight beads are broken cleanly without damage to the rim or tire.
The Atlas® TC289DAA wheel clamp tire changer is engineered to handle both high-priced alloy wheels and heavy-duty steel wheels with equal care and precision. The turntable's 4-jaw internal/external clamping system holds rims securely, and each jaw can be moved to three different positions along the turntable slide to adjust for a wide variety of rim sizes and types — including steel, aluminum, and alloy rims. This adjustability allows you to maximize clamping range and optimize tire handling across passenger cars, light trucks, and oversized vehicles.
For added rim protection, the machine includes four large black plastic jaw covers that prevent scratches and surface damage during mounting and demounting. The metal mount/demount head comes equipped with a metal roller and replaceable plastic inserts (multiple spares included) to protect wheel finishes. A plastic cover for the bead breaker shovel is also provided to safeguard expensive rims during bead breaking operations.
The adjustable bead breaker plate is positioned on the side of the machine and applies 5,500 lbs of pneumatic force, making quick work of even the toughest, most corroded beads — all without damaging the rim. This adjustability ensures compatibility with various wheel widths, with two operating positions: Position 1) 14¾" and Position 2) 18" maximum wheel width.
One of the standout features of the TC289DAA is its integrated "Beadblaster" system. This high-pressure air burst system helps seat stiff sidewall tires, oversized tires, and other hard-to-inflate designs quickly and safely. The Beadblaster delivers a controlled blast of air to force the tire bead against the rim, allowing for fast, reliable inflation without the need for external tools or dangerous improvisation. This feature is particularly valuable when working with low-profile tires, run-flats, and heavy-duty truck tires that resist conventional seating methods.
The Atlas® TC289DAA arrives ready to work with a comprehensive set of professional accessories and tools:
This complete package ensures that your shop has everything needed to perform fast, safe, and professional tire service on a wide variety of wheel types and sizes — right out of the crate.
The TC289DAA is designed to handle an extraordinarily wide range of wheel sizes, thanks to its adjustable jaw system and flip adapters that enable both ATV and motorcycle configurations. Here's a quick overview of the clamping capabilities:
This adaptability makes the TC289DAA a true multi-purpose machine, capable of serving automotive, light truck, ATV, and motorcycle tire service needs — all from one robust platform.
The Atlas® TC289DAA operates on standard 110V 1-Phase electrical power for the turntable motor, making it compatible with most shop electrical systems. The pneumatic functions (jaws, bead breaker, and Beadblaster) require an external compressed air supply with 90–110 PSI operating pressure. Maximum inlet pressure must not exceed 140 PSI. The included filter, regulator, and lubricator unit ensures clean, regulated air delivery to all pneumatic components for reliable, long-lasting performance.
The machine ships at 920 lbs and requires some assembly after purchase to prepare it for operation. Detailed assembly and operating instructions are provided in the installation manual.
