At the core of the EMAX EP05V080I1 is a pump you can depend on — day in, day out. This is not your typical throw-away compressor. We start with a solid cast iron crankcase, not aluminum. Cast iron maintains stable crankshaft alignment under heavy load conditions, ensuring your compressor performs reliably in the toughest industrial environments.

The pump features a precision balanced solid cast iron crankshaft with Timken-style stainless steel roller bearings on both the front and rear. This design ensures smooth, efficient operation with less drag — which means less energy consumption and cooler running temperatures for extended pump life.

But we didn't stop there. The EMAX Industrial Plus pump is loaded with professional-grade components that set it apart from the competition:

  • All-steel connecting rods with replaceable rod bearing inserts. Our rods can be rebuilt! Unlike 99% of competitors who use "throw-away" aluminum rods with no rebuild capability, our steel rods are built to last and can be serviced for years to come.
  • Removable 100% cast iron cylinders. These solid cylinders are more stable under heavy workloads and do not warp from heat. Most competitors use aluminum cylinders with a pressed-in sleeve that warp under extreme heat, limiting them to a 40-50% duty cycle. Our cast iron cylinders can "take the heat" and are designed for true heavy-duty performance.
  • All cast iron cylinder heads. Cast iron heads are more durable and dependable for trouble-free operation under continuous duty.
  • Disc valve design intake and exhaust valves. Disc valves have been proven for over 100 years. They're serviceable in minutes right from the top of the cylinder head — unlike "throw-away" reed valves that require hours of disassembly.
  • Top quality compression and oil rings ensure performance with extremely low oil carry-over (1-5 PPM).
  • Precision ground pistons machined to tight tolerances for low oil carry-over and maximum efficiency.

  • All cast iron flywheel with built-in fan. The extra weight of our cast iron flywheel provides more "throw" on the compression stroke, reducing load on the electric motor. Many manufacturers use lightweight aluminum flywheels that lack the proper weight ratio for optimal performance.
  • Built-in head unloaders. These unloaders are integrated into the intake valve assembly and open the intake valves during constant run applications. This reduces internal pump heat by allowing fresh air to circulate through the cylinder chamber, absorbing heat under heavy workloads.
  • Built-in inter-cooler and after-cooler. The inter-cooler cools air between stages, while the air-cooled after-cooler provides a second cooling stage before air enters the tank. The after-cooler includes an all-copper main feed line from the pump into the tank.

Pump RPM is a critical factor in both performance and longevity. For that reason, EMAX normally "goes big," over-sizing our pumps and running them at lower RPMs than most manufacturers. Our bigger, 800 RPM pump still delivers high CFM output because both bore and stroke are larger. You get the big CFM output, but the lower RPM operation reduces friction and heat buildup — extending pump life by years.


Raised Mounting Platform: Keep Your Oil Cool

The EMAX raised pump platform design is engineered to keep your oil cool within the pump. This platform raises the pump approximately 2 inches off the mounting base plate, allowing 100% constant flow of cool air from the flywheel fan to circulate around not only the top and sides of the pump crankcase, but also the underside. This ensures cooler oil temperatures within your pump. Cooler oil lubricates better and pulls heat off the pistons and connecting rods — reducing wear and adding many years of life to the compressor pump.


Premium Low-RPM Industrial Motor

This unit features a name-brand ODP (open drip-proof) motor backed by a 5-year warranty. Most importantly, all of our motors are low RPM motors (1750 RPM) — while most manufacturers now use higher RPM motors (3450 RPM). 1750 RPM motors run much cooler than 3450 RPM motors due to higher torque, yield lower harmonic distortion, provide much higher torque in cold weather starting, and require less electricity under start conditions.

Your EMAX EP05V080I1 comes equipped with a proprietary Automatic Belt Tensioner that eliminates countless hours of maintenance and frustration. Adjusting belt tension and alignment is quick and simple: just loosen the 4 bolts under the motor about 2 threads, turn the adjustment bolt on the end of the belt tensioner assembly using a ¾" wrench until desired tension and alignment is achieved, re-tighten the 4 motor mount bolts — and you're done. No more wrestling with belts for hours!

Dual Timer Automatic Tank Drain

EMAX incorporates yet another standard value-added feature that will eliminate maintenance and add years to the life of your air tank. In hot, humid industrial environments, there is typically a lot of excess moisture in the air that is consumed into the compressor during intake and compression cycles. This moisture collects in the air tank and must be drained regularly.

This moisture robs you of air capacity, can transfer through air lines into your equipment and tools, and if not drained regularly can cause corrosion within the tank — shortening tank life or worse yet, resulting in tank failure.

EMAX's Automatic Tank Drain with Integrated Dual Timer does this maintenance for you automatically on time intervals you set, ensuring condensation is removed regularly to avoid all of these issues.

  • 100% brass check valves with Teflon seating. The Teflon seating is much quieter than other materials and insulates noise when valves open and close during the compression stage, reducing tank noise.
  • 100% brass ASME safety valves. All safety valves are 100% brass and comply with ASME code. Valves are preset and sealed for correct settings. In the event your compressor does not turn off, safety valves open to prevent excessive pressure buildup, helping to avoid potential tank rupture.

  • High quality 100% brass ball valves for turning air on and off from the air receiver

  • Load-less starting. Thanks to built-in head unloaders in the intake valve assembly, "load-less" starting is built into this unit. This unloads the pump so it will not start under direct head pressure, preventing motor damage during the starting cycle.

Continuous Run & Automatic Start/Stop
