Sunex 7793B 1,000 lb. Telescoping Transmission Jack
The Sunex 7796 is a professional-grade 1,000 lb. capacity air/hydraulic telescoping transmission jack engineered for efficient removal, installation, and transport of transmissions and transfer cases on vehicles supported by lifts. Combining the speed of pneumatic operation with the precision of hydraulic control, this dual-stage jack delivers rapid lifting at 100 PSI and controlled positioning for demanding transmission service work. With a low profile height of 35 inches for easy bench transfers and a maximum reach of 75 inches, the Sunex 7796 accommodates technicians of all heights and provides exceptional reach for both low-slung sports cars and lifted trucks. Its telescoping ram design and universal adjustable saddle make it an indispensable tool for any professional shop performing regular transmission work.
The Sunex 7796 features a sophisticated two-stage lifting system that maximizes both speed and precision. The foot-activated air pump pedal rapidly raises the pneumatic cylinder's ram to maximum load capacity in seconds—providing hands-free operation while you position and secure the transmission. Once the first stage reaches its peak, the manual hydraulic pump takes over for the second stage, allowing you to quickly and precisely raise the lifting saddle to your exact desired work height. This dual-stage approach means you spend less time pumping and more time working, while maintaining the fine control needed for safe transmission alignment and installation.
Lowering is equally refined: a foot-activated release pedal provides slow, controlled descent for the air cylinder's first stage, while a hydraulic release knob governs the second stage. This gives you complete control during the critical lowering phase, ensuring smooth, safe transmission removal without sudden drops or jarring movements that could damage expensive components or injure technicians.
The fully adjustable lifting saddle on the Sunex 7796 features four ratcheting adjustment arms (sometimes called fingers) that quickly adapt to virtually any transmission pan configuration. Whether you're working with a small 4-cylinder transaxle or a heavy-duty truck transmission, these ratcheting arms lock securely into position to cradle the load and distribute weight evenly across the saddle. This universal design eliminates the need for multiple saddle adapters and speeds up your workflow.
Once the transmission is positioned, a heavy-duty nylon locking strap works in tandem with the ratchet fingers to securely tie down and stabilize the load on the saddle. This integrated tie-down system prevents shifting or tipping during transport, giving you confidence as you maneuver heavy transmissions across the shop floor. The saddle also offers impressive tilt capability: 37° forward tilt, 26° backward tilt, and 12° lateral tilt (both left and right), allowing you to angle the transmission for optimal alignment during installation and removal.
The lowered telescopic rams enable seamless transfer of transmissions between the jack and your work table or bench. At its low height of 35 inches, the Sunex 7796 sits low enough for easy loading and unloading, reducing strain and simplifying bench transfers. When extended, the rams reach an impressive maximum height of 75 inches, accommodating technicians of all statures and providing the reach necessary to service vehicles on high lifts or those with significant ground clearance. This telescoping capability makes the jack incredibly versatile across a wide range of vehicles and shop configurations.
Built on a 30-1/4 inch square wide base, the Sunex 7796 provides exceptional stability even when supporting heavy loads at full extension. The wide footprint minimizes tipping risk and ensures a solid, confident platform for your transmission work. Mobility is provided by four full-swivel ball bearing mounted caster wheels with polyurethane tread, which roll smoothly across shop floors and provide easy maneuverability even under load. Two of the casters feature a locking mechanism, allowing you to lock the jack in place and prevent unwanted movement during critical installation and removal procedures.
A convenient hand grip integrated into the design makes pushing or pulling the loaded jack effortless, particularly when the load is in the lowered position. For added safety, an overload valve prevents the jack from being used beyond its rated 1,000 lb. capacity, protecting both your equipment and your technicians from dangerous overload conditions.
