IMPORTANT INFORMATION: READ THIS FIRST before you operate your Atlas® KwikBay midrise lift. The 7K Kwik Bay is designed to be a Quick Service Lift. Click Here for Critical Operating Information

The Atlas® Kwik Bay is a free-standing 7,000 lb. capacity portable scissor lift engineered for commercial quick service bays and wheel service specialists who demand extra lifting height without the complexity of traditional lifts. This portable powerhouse easily raises cars and trucks to a comfortable working height while eliminating the need to position arms under lifting points—simply drive the vehicle over the scissor ramps and position the heavy-duty rubber block assemblies under the correct lifting points. The operation is remarkably quick, and the chance for any damage to the underside of the vehicle is minimal.

What sets the Atlas® Kwik Bay apart is its unique open center design, which allows unobstructed access to many areas on the underside of the vehicle that are simply not accessible with other portable mid-rise lifts employing a full superstructure. This open-middle configuration is a game-changer for technicians working on exhaust systems, transmissions, differentials, and undercarriage components.

The approach ramps lock into a horizontal position to extend the runway platform length by an additional 10¼" on each end, expanding the effective lifting surface from 57½" to an impressive 78". This extended length accommodates a wider range of vehicle wheelbases and provides greater flexibility in positioning vehicles on the lift.

The dual power cylinders and solid safety lock bars make the Atlas® Kwik Bay one of the most versatile and easy-to-use scissor mid-rise lifts on the market. The lift is powered by a 120 volt power unit mounted on a movable cart that can be remotely located near the lift for maximum efficiency. This cart is also used to move the Atlas® Kwik Bay on smooth surfaces—roll it from an inside work bay to an outside concrete apron work area with ease.

Critical Operating Guidelines for Maximum Performance

As with any scissor lift that is completely open (no cross support bar in the front or rear to keep the platforms level), the operator must ensure that the vehicle's frame is positioned at least 6 inches from the inside edge of the platform. If too much weight is positioned near the edges of the platform (closer than 6 inches from the inside edges), the platforms may become "pigeon toed" and damage may occur.

Professional customers lifting heavy vehicles with narrow frames should consider Atlas® Scissor Lift Support Bars to disperse narrow frame weight over the entire platform lifting surface. Some operators also use 4 x 4 landscape timbers in place of Atlas support bars to achieve the same weight distribution results. These support accessories are especially critical when lifting pickup trucks and vehicles with narrow frame rails.

Important Information! Read To Avoid Damaging Your Lift

Why won't my scissor lift raise its rated capacity? For information on horizontal vs. vertical cylinders, Click Here

The best way to position any vehicle on a scissor lift (with horizontal cylinders) is to allow some space—2 to 6 inches—between the lifting surface of the lift and the vehicle's lifting points. This positioning technique ensures optimal hydraulic cylinder performance and prevents overloading at full extension.

Electrical Requirements and Power System

The Atlas® Kwik Bay motor must be connected to a 120 Volt system with a 30 amp breaker. This is critical: If the motor is operated on less than 120 volts at the motor, the lift will not be able to raise its rated capacity and damage may occur to the motor. Extension cords are not recommended as they cause voltage drop and reduce amperage delivery.

There are several methods available to increase your delivered voltage and amperage if your current electrical system is not adequate. Please contact a qualified electrician to discuss these options and ensure your lift operates at peak performance.

The portable power unit console includes an off/on power switch, power indicator light, and three control buttons (up, down, and safety lock). The up button raises the lift. The lock button lowers the lift into a locked position. The lowering button (when depressed) raises the lift off locked position, actuates lift lock bar movement off the locks, and then allows the lift to lower to the ground.

Maintenance and Longevity Features

Each hinge point on the Atlas® Kwik Bay features a zerk grease fitting to allow maximum lubrication to each joint, ensuring smooth operation and long service life. Regular greasing of these fittings is essential for maintaining peak performance and preventing premature wear.

The lift requires 3.5 gallons of AW32/AW46 hydraulic oil and operates on 85-120 psi air for the air-operated locks, providing fast, reliable lock engagement and release.

Industry-Tested Performance and Stability

Atlas® Kwik Bay has been thoroughly tested to meet industry standards. The large footprint—72" wide by 77½" long—creates a steady platform for any raised vehicle. The Atlas® Kwik Bay achieves a maximum lifting height of over 41" (with blocks) and remains rock solid at all safety lock positions. The minimum lift height is just 4¼", making it easy to drive low-clearance vehicles onto the ramps.

With platform dimensions of 57½" L x 19¼" W and 33½" between runways, the Kwik Bay accommodates a wide variety of vehicle types from compact cars to full-size trucks. The ramps measure 10¼" x 19¼", providing a gentle approach angle and solid support during vehicle loading.

Why Choose the Atlas® Kwik Bay?

  • True Portability: Move the lift indoors or outdoors on smooth surfaces with the integrated power unit cart—perfect for shops with limited space or multi-bay operations.
  • Open Center Access: The unique open-middle design provides unobstructed access to exhaust, transmission, differential, and other undercarriage components that full-superstructure lifts cannot reach.
  • Quick Service Design: Drive-on ramps eliminate the need for precise arm positioning—position rubber blocks, raise the lift, and you're working in seconds.
  • Extended Runway Options: Lock ramps horizontally to extend effective lifting surface from 57½" to 78", accommodating longer wheelbases.
  • Rock-Solid Stability: Large 72" x 77½" footprint and dual power cylinders provide exceptional stability at all lift heights up to 41" with blocks.

The Atlas® Kwik Bay includes one set (4) of positioning blocks to accommodate various vehicle lift points and chassis configurations. These blocks provide secure, stable lifting points and are essential for safely raising vehicles to maximum height.
