From heavy-duty 1/2" aircraft cable to fully enclosed lifting cables and safety locks, the HDS-14 is built for increased durability, safety, and productivity. Every element of this lift has been engineered to handle the strenuous demands of professional use, year after year.
Extended Standard-Length Runways: The HDS-14 features 197.5-inch runways designed to safely support vehicles with longer wheelbases. Driving onto the runway is safe and simple for vehicles of all sizes, and the extended design prevents unnecessary wear and tear during loading.
Dual-Hub Cable Sheaves: Massive 10.5-inch diameter cable sheaves within the runway and cross tubes reduce stress, fatigue, and wear across the entire structure. Combined with 2.25-inch diameter sheave axles, these oversized sheaves dramatically improve lift durability and reduce cable fatigue over the life of the lift.
Heavy-Duty Aircraft Cable: This lift is equipped with four 1/2-inch diameter, 6 x 25 stainless-steel lifting cables, each with a breaking strength exceeding 14,000 lbs. This aircraft-quality cable was specifically designed for heavy lifting applications, providing an ideal balance between abrasion resistance and fatigue life. Oversized self-lubricating cable rollers and rugged 1.75-inch roller axles further enhance reliability.
Built-In Lubrication: Grease fittings are conveniently located on every sheave and sheave axle, keeping these critical components well-lubricated and simplifying your periodic maintenance schedule.
Hydraulic Flow Restrictor: An integrated hydraulic flow restrictor provides controlled descent in the unlikely event of an unexpected hose rupture, adding an extra layer of safety to every operation.
Large Base Plates: 10" x 12" base plates provide a rock-solid foundation without excessively cluttering your shop floor space.
Secondary Lock System: Independent backup slack-cable safety latches are on constant guard and act as a redundant safety device in the unlikely event of an unexpected cable failure. Safety locks are enclosed in columns to minimize pinch points and improve operator safety.
Fully Integrated Design: Lifting cables, airlines, safety latches, and sheaves are all fully enclosed within the structure. You're still able to look in and perform visual inspections during operation, but the enclosed design protects critical components from damage and contamination.
Internal Anti-Sway Slider Blocks: Each column features internal anti-sway slider blocks that minimize movement and enhance stability during lifting and lowering operations.
Adjustable Height Locking Positions: Each column features multi-position safety locks with 15 locking positions for variable-height parking, storage, and infinite leveling. Lock spacing every 4 inches provides the flexibility you need for different vehicle types and service tasks.
Pneumatic Push-Button Safety Release: A pneumatic push-button safety release makes engaging and disengaging the locks fast and effortless. Note: An air supply (minimum 30 psi / 3 CFM) is required for the safety-lock mechanisms to disengage. It is solely the responsibility of the end-user to provide, install, and maintain the air supply.
Electric-Hydraulic Power System: A maintenance-free electric-hydraulic power system ensures ultimate dependability. The single hydraulic cylinder is conveniently mounted underneath the runway, and all operator controls are within easy reach. Raising and lowering the lift is as easy as pushing a button.
Customizable Power Unit Location: The power unit location can be customized to fit your shop layout and optimize workflow.
Longer Approach Ramps: Mid to long-style approach ramps decrease the drive-on angle, making the lift ideal for low-riding sports cars and vehicles with minimal ground clearance. The approach ramps incorporate built-in rear-wheel chocks for added safety during loading.
Flexible Protective Conduit: All hydraulic hoses and airlines are routed through flexible, non-metallic tubing that protects against electrical shocks from worn cables and general wear from heavy use. This design also helps your lift pass ALI inspections by preventing visible cable damage.
Durable Matte Finish Runways: The runways feature a durable matte finish that resists wear and provides excellent traction. Runways include rail-kit for optional accessories, allowing you to add drip trays, rolling jacks, and other tools.
Optional RJ7W Rolling Bridge Jack: The optional 7,000-pound capacity rolling jack is powerful enough to engage the frame of a 14,000 lb. vehicle and hoist half of it in the air. The HDS-14 Standard Length model features an overall length of 242 inches and an outside length of 213 inches, with 197.5-inch runways. The overall width is 130 inches, with 120 inches between columns and 98 inches of drive-thru clearance. Each 20-inch wide runway offers adjustable spacing: choose between 34.5 inches or 41.5 inches between runways to accommodate a wide variety of vehicle track widths.
