Pedal controls and a tool tray/bin storage keep operations efficient and organized. The rigid fixed/swing arm tower design with double assist tower (standard) offers the versatility and power needed for everything from standard passenger tires to specialty low-profile and run-flat applications.
Ranger DST30P Wheel Balancer – One-Spin Precision
One-Spin, Minimal Weight Placement
The DST30P accurately and efficiently calibrates wheel and tire configurations with professional-grade precision. This advanced auto & light truck balancer handles wheels up to a 30" diameter, accommodating wheel diameters from 12" to 30" and wheel widths from 4" to 15". It contains many of the same working components as higher-end Ranger balancers but with one critical exception: we integrated the 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder into this compact unit for minimal yet incredibly precise wheel weight placements. The maximum tire diameter capacity is 47" with a maximum tire weight of 150 lbs, making it ideal for most passenger cars, light trucks, and SUVs.
The larger encoder features precision-cut square teeth to convert rotary position to a digital electronic signal, quickly achieving maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. This translates to balancing accuracy of +/- 1 gram (.035 oz) with a resolution of 0.01 ounce and 1.4°. As part of our ongoing mission to supply shops and garages of all sizes, we reduced the unit's footprint by narrowing the chassis while maintaining the highest standards of precision. The average cycle time is just 7 seconds, and the balancing speed operates at 260/320 RPM with automatic electronic braking for fast, safe operation.
If you're looking for more precise measuring without the digital frills, add-ons and increased body size of flagship models, the DST30P is the perfect wheel balancer for your shop. It's a cost-effective hybrid unit that offers the most precise readings you'll ever generate from a wheel balancer in this class, featuring balancing increments of 0.25 oz (7 gram) and dynamic, static, and 3-alloy balancing modes.
Direct-Drive System for Long-Term Reliability
The Direct-Axis drive system helps keep the DST30P running smoothly over time. A 1.5 HP, 110V/220V, 50/60 Hz, 1-phase belt-drive motor connects to the unbalance sensor, eliminating most maintenance costs during your wheel balancer's many years of service. Highly precise digital sensor technology and multi-directional quartz piezoelectric load sensors measure longitudinal, transversal, and shear effects for multi-directional force unbalance detection. The piezoelectric force sensors are the most sensitive sensors Ranger has ever produced, offering superior stability and fatigue resistance for unlimited service life. High-rigidity quartz crystal sensors offer high frequency detection in all three measured directions.
The DST30P doubles the potential placement for wheel weights while maintaining a space-conscious and highly cost-effective shop solution. Dynamic, static and ALU balancing modes are standard on each unit, featuring dual plane calibration for all OEM configurations and performance wheels. Ranger's proprietary Digital Sensor Technology offers a 16-digit digital sensor processor and single-chip technology for better speed and accuracy in your readings. OEM and performance wheels require this sort of sophisticated technology for proper balancing, so be sure any wheel balancer you choose is fully capable of servicing these specialized wheel types.
Single-chip circuit board architecture upgrades performance and reliability over multi-chip installations (e.g., latency reductions, substantial boost in device throughput). A speedy, dedicated hyper transport protocol lets data communicate with the micro-processor much faster than would otherwise be possible. Single-chip boards also use less power and better dissipate heat, ensuring long-term reliability even in the most demanding shop environments.
Quick & Precise Setup for Maximum Efficiency
A diverse arrangement of hardened-steel mounting cones (5 standard cones included) lets you work with virtually all wheel types, including most light trucks and SUVs. A rubber "quick-nut" bell adapter, with a non-marring rear cone mount pressure cup, holds mounted wheels securely in place and is sure not to damage tires or wheels during balancing procedures. The precision-machined, hardened-steel 40 mm shaft and quick-release hub nut dramatically reduce set-up times, while the side-position brake holds wheels at precisely 12-o'clock for proper weight placement.
The mounting cone package includes three "smaller" cones: 1.75" – 2.75", 2.75" – 3.50", and 3.50" – 4.25", as well as one truck cone 4.50" – 5.00". Once an optional accessory, the 4.5" – 5.00" truck cone package is now standard. An even larger double-sided centering Truck Cone Kit that fits hub sizes 4.75" – 6.75" is sold separately, but also fits the DST30P. Put simply, Ranger wheel balancers easily accommodate most OEM and aftermarket wheel configurations.
Advanced Features for Professional Results
The DST30P features a multi-user save function that holds presets to increase productivity, and an ergonomic control board with easy-to-read LED display has vibrant visual cues and keypad to improve efficiency and proper balancing techniques for faster floor-to-floor times. A simultaneous retrieval of static, dynamic and ALU1/ALU2 data identifies weight placement configurations for a variety of wheel styles and designs with the simple push of a button. The automatic rolling wheel parameter setting feature saves valuable time and minimizes errors, while gram/ounce selection and millimeter/inch selection offer flexible measurement options.
Automatic round-off with top-dead-center weight position indicator makes weight placement foolproof, and manual or automatic start when hood is lowered speeds up your workflow. The self-calibration function ensures consistent accuracy over time. A high-volume top weight tray and side shelf storage gives you room to inventory a wide variety of wheel weights and tools, while the newly designed side shelf features an open-top design that accommodates Ranger Quick-Peel™ adhesive tape weight convenient bulk rolls.
A tape weight feeder is located conveniently on the side-shelf that's built into the wheel balancer. You'll never have to worry about losing or misplacing your Ranger easy-to-peel adhesive tape weight. The 64-tooth encoder improves automatic weight optimization—the weight calculations on the DST30P wheel balancer are twice as accurate as previous models. We've taken something great and made it even greater, now balancing your tire and wheel configurations with the most precise placements possible. The 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder offers more precise placement readouts by making it easier to achieve maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. This means you use less weight while you save more time, increasing your bottom line.
Ergonomic Design & LED Weight Displays
We've taken the touch-pad display panel and raised it up, tower-style, for the DST30P. This design improvement offers more flexibility in how you work. The extended, fully adjustable full-tilt display panel avoids the problem of glare that can shroud readouts on the screen, and it ensures differently abled operators will enjoy a more ergonomic experience as they calibrate tire and wheel configurations. Side cone storage pegs keep accessories readily available, and the new "open-side" hood design allows for broader coverage of tire shapes and sizes.
Highly visible LED rolling wheel weight displays show you exactly where to place the weights in seconds flat. These LED indicators let you see weight positions when the mounted wheel is rolled top-dead-center. As mentioned, the DST30P features an improved encoder wheel, which means the LED display on the DST30P is more sensitive and more accurate than ever before.
