Atlas® Automotive Equipment ATTD-BP-EXTKIT-BP10 Baseplate Extension Kit
The Atlas® ATTD-BP-EXTKIT-BP8 Baseplate Extension Kit is the ideal solution for shop owners and technicians who need additional peace of mind about their concrete floor's integrity. Engineered specifically to fit Atlas® ATTD-BP8000 Baseplate Lifts, this extension kit dramatically increases the column base surface area anchored to your shop floor—providing enhanced stability when you're uncertain about your concrete's thickness or PSI rating. Whether you're working with an older building, unverified concrete specs, or simply want maximum anchoring confidence, this kit delivers the foundational support your baseplate lift installation demands.
The Atlas® Baseplate Extension Kit was specifically designed for customers who are not sure what the thickness or PSI of their concrete floor is. When you don't have verified documentation of your shop floor's concrete specifications, these extensions provide a critical safety margin by increasing the anchoring surface area that secures each column to the floor.
Unlike overhead lifts that benefit from a top crossbar providing lateral stability between columns, baseplate lift stability relies entirely on the anchoring system that secures each column to the concrete floor. The column bases of all Atlas® baseplate lifts—when properly anchored to 4 inches of concrete at 3,000 PSI—provide the required stability for the lift's rated capacity. However, if your concrete conditions are unknown or questionable, this extension kit becomes an invaluable upgrade.
Important Notice:
These extensions DO NOT increase the rated lifting capacity of the baseplate lift. They are designed to enhance anchoring stability and surface area contact with the floor—not to exceed the lift's engineered load rating.
Understanding lift stability is essential for safe operation. Overhead lifts have inherent stability advantages because the bar across the top of the structure helps stabilize each column as the vehicle (positioned between the columns) is raised. This crossbar provides lateral support and distributes forces across the entire frame.
In contrast, baseplate lifts depend exclusively on floor anchoring for their stability. The column support system relies solely on the anchoring hardware that secures the columns to the concrete floor. This makes proper installation on suitable concrete absolutely critical—and it's precisely why the ATTD-BP-EXTKIT-BP8 exists for situations where concrete quality is uncertain.
