The Ranger R980DP Tire Changer is designed for professional automotive service environments that need additional tire-changing capability beyond a standard swing-arm machine.
Featuring a dual-assist system and space-conscious swing-arm configuration, the R980DP helps technicians handle demanding tire mounting and demounting operations while maintaining a familiar operating layout.
The machine is particularly useful for shops servicing modern passenger vehicles, performance cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, and compatible light trucks equipped with tires that require additional bead control.
For busy tire service departments, the R980DP provides a practical combination of professional tire-changing performance, technician convenience, and efficient equipment placement.
The R980DP dual-assist tire-changing system provides additional support for tire assemblies that can be difficult to service using conventional tire-changing equipment.
Low-profile tires, run-flat tires, and performance tire assemblies often feature stiff sidewalls that make mounting and demounting more demanding. The dual-assist system helps technicians control tire bead positioning and movement, reducing the amount of manual effort required during service.
This added assistance is especially valuable for professional shops regularly working with modern tire designs and challenging wheel configurations.
By helping technicians manage difficult tire assemblies more efficiently, the R980DP can support improved shop productivity and reduced operator fatigue during repetitive tire-changing operations.
Proper tire bead control is essential when mounting and demounting low-profile, run-flat, and stiff-sidewall tires.
The Ranger R980DP assist system helps technicians maintain more controlled tire positioning throughout the service process. This is particularly beneficial when the tire bead must remain properly positioned within the wheel's drop center to reduce mounting resistance.
With additional mechanical assistance available, technicians can manage challenging tire assemblies with less reliance on manual force, helping reduce unnecessary strain on both the operator and tire components.
The R980DP swing-arm configuration provides a familiar tire-changing layout while helping conserve valuable shop floor space.
This design is especially useful for automotive repair shops and tire service centers where equipment placement and available working space are important considerations.
By combining a practical swing-arm layout with dual-assist functionality, the R980DP offers professional tire-changing capability without requiring shops to move to a larger tilt-back configuration.
The Ranger R980DP is designed to support a variety of professional tire service applications, including:
Its dual-assist system makes the R980DP particularly attractive for shops handling a wide variety of tire constructions and wheel configurations.

The result is a balanced equipment package that combines advanced tire-changing support with straightforward professional wheel balancing.
This Ranger tire changer and wheel balancer combo includes tape wheel weight rolls to support common wheel balancing applications.
Adhesive tape weights provide a convenient solution for compatible wheel assemblies where stick-on weight placement is preferred. Including these supplies with the equipment package helps shops begin performing balancing corrections without sourcing all initial wheel weight materials separately.
