The Huth Mitey Mate Jr. Model 1685S Hand-Held Exhaust Pipe Expander brings professional tube expanding power directly to the vehicle. Powered by standard shop air, this compact and portable expander allows technicians to work exactly where the tubing is located, including under vehicles and in tight work areas. It quickly reshapes existing exhaust tubing and creates accurate slip-fit connections by expanding one pipe end to fit securely over another.
Designed for automotive exhaust shops, muffler shops, fabrication facilities, and professional technicians, the Mitey Mate Jr. combines portability with serious expanding capability. With the appropriate optional tooling, technicians can create flares, ball joints, and slip connections either directly under the vehicle or on the workbench. Flaring applications require the 440 Flaring Segment, while ball-joint forming requires the appropriate Huth ball-joint segment tooling.
Operating at 3,200 PSI with a required shop air supply of 80 to 120 PSI maximum, the Mitey Mate Jr. generates an impressive 17,000 lbs. of expanding force. An air regulator is included for proper setup and operation. Standard tooling allows technicians to expand 1-1/2" through 2-1/2" I.D. mufflers and exhaust pipes, while optional tooling expands the machine’s capability from approximately 15/16" I.D. up to 4".
For fast and repeatable results, the Model 1685S incorporates Huth’s exclusive Accu-Sizer™ system, helping technicians achieve precise expansions job after job. Simple bull’s-eye sizing adjustments make setup quick, while removable arbor tips increase versatility across different exhaust and tube-forming applications.
Despite its professional expanding power, the Huth Mitey Mate Jr. remains exceptionally portable. The hand-held expander weighs only 7 lbs. and features a durable high-impact pistol grip for comfortable operation. The complete three-piece system weighs approximately 34 lbs., making it easy to move throughout the shop or position directly beside the vehicle being serviced.
A compact storage unit keeps the expander, three segment sets, and one detachable arbor tip organized and readily accessible. The storage unit measures approximately 9" H x 10-1/2" square, while the compact power pedal measures just 8" H x 10" L x 5" W and conveniently stores underneath the unit when not in use.

This warranty is made for the exclusive benefit of the original owner and is not transferable. There is no other warranty applicable to HUTH PRODUCTS, and no representative has any authority to make any representation, promise or agreement except as stated in the warranty.
One year warranty *
For one year from the date of invoice the Huth will repair the bender if found to be defective in material and workmanship without cost to the purchaser. Following the first 90 days from the date of original invoice, replacement parts are shipped from the seller to the purchaser freight collect. Return parts are shipped prepaid to the Huth. In effecting such repairs, the Huth may at its election, repair or replace any part which it finds to be defective. Tools and dies are warranted for a period of (90) ninety days against defect in material and workmanship.
* During the first 90 days from date of original invoice the Huth will pay freight charges for replacement of defective parts.
