AtlasŪ Automotive Equipment TC200 Series Dual Assist Arms (DDA)
The AtlasŪ DAA is the combination of the AtlasŪ LH assist arm and the AtlasŪ RH assist arm. When you buy these two arms at the same time, you save money.
The AtlasŪ LH assist arm is designed to be mounted on the AtlasŪ TC289, AtlasŪ TC229, and AtlasŪ TC221 wheel clamp tire changers. The pneumatic powered LH assist arm is a must have accessory to mount and demount many of the stiff sidewall tires found on today's vehicles. This AtlasŪ LH assist arm provides robotic power, allowing the operator to keep both hands free during the tire changing operation. The disc and rotating press arm exert an enormous amount of pressure on the sidewall of the tire so the operator can mount or demount a stiff sidewall tire.
The pneumatic power cylinder produces sufficient power to allow the properly positioned pressure disc to exert both upward and downward pressure (depending if you are mounting or demounting) on the sidewall of the tire. You must exert enough (upward or downward) pressure on the tire's sidewall to effectively move the bead of the tire close to the center of the rim. Many of the cheaper arm assemblies are no more than an air cylinder mounted above the turntable. These low cost air cylinder arm assemblies exert only a minimal amount of downward pressure. This downward pressure is needed for mounting the tire on the wheel, but is ineffective when you need to dismount the tire from the wheel. The lifting disc of the AtlasŪ LH assist arm exerts an enormous amount of controlled pressure to gently force the lower bead up into the wheel cavity, so that the tire can be removed. The bead is held below the lip of the rim by the rotating bead press adapter as the tire is being mounted.
The control toggle switch is positioned for maximum accessibility and ease of use.
The AtlasŪ LH assist arm may be purchased at the same time you purchase your AtlasŪ TC289, AtlasŪ TC229 or AtlasŪ TC221 wheel clamp tire changer, or you can purchase an AtlasŪ tire changer now; and add the AtlasŪ LH assist arm at a later date.
The AtlasŪ RH assist arm. is the perfect complement to the AtlasŪ LH assist arm when you need to change extremely stiff sidewall and run flat tires. As the old saying goes "two hands (heads?) are better than one". The addition of the AtlasŪ RH assist arm (in conjunction with the AtlasŪ LH assist arm) provides unparalleled power to mount and demount the most stubborn tires.
The AtlasŪ RH assist arm has a separate toggle control valve that allows the operator to position the arm assembly to the correct height and then move the attachments (up or down) by applying air pressure and forcing the stiff sidewall part of the tire either on the rim or off the rim.
The oversized polyurethane bead roller moves easily across the horizontal slides to the correct position over the bead of the tire. This bead roller exerts a downward pressure on the bead so the bead stays below the rim lip as it passes over the mount/demount head.
Hose connections are well marked and the hoses are enclosed in a protective cover to prevent damage.
The AtlasŪ RH assist arm and the AtlasŪ LH assist arm are the perfect combination to change just about any run flat or stiff sidewall tire.
