Did You Know?
• Delphi has more than 30 years of experience in engineering
original equipment (OE) evaporative emissions systems for
the world’s largest automakers. It is considered among the
top makers of evaporative emissions canisters, producing
more than 6 million units annually. First-to-market
innovations include the catalytic converter.
• All licensed Inspection and Maintenance Smog Check
centers in California are required to support the new LPFET
by Nov. 1, 2007.
• An estimated 7 million vehicles will be required to have the
LPFET performed. Approximately 11% are expected to fail
in any given year.
• According to the California Air Resources Board (CARB)
and BAR, by 2010, the new LPFET program is expected
to eliminate up to 14 tons per day in evaporative
hydrocarbons from being emitted by vehicles into the air.
